Emonicum Institute is a non-governmental, non-profit public health practice and research oriented organization. The purpose of the institute is to raise social and health culture by promoting active and healthy lifestyle and an agenda of social responsibility. The institute promotes activities and develops »popular prevention« programmes with preventive advice, understandable to everyone, regardless of their educational background .
Emonicum’s mission is to develop innovative research and educational programs in:
- public health policy strategies
- abc of health literacy
- age friendly environments
- falls prevention in elderly
- incontinence care, reduction of its public stigma
- e-inclusion for active and healthy ageing
- education work for active and included old age
- reduction of the social gradient in local communities.
Emonicum institute has established experience by participating in European projects and programs in the field of health and active lifestyle and reduction of health inequalities in different environments, including remote local communities. The team involves specialists in public health, social medicine, psychology, e-inclusion and education. The institute is working closely with the national health and social authorities, professional institutions and other stakeholders. We have developed education and training programs and contributed to the preparation of national strategy on active and healthy aging.
